ADOT of Arizona is offering assistance to help minority contractors to enter the ADOT minority programs.
Here is an excerpt of their announcement:
“ADOT Academy for the Development of DBEs
Apr 16, 2012
2012 marks the third year of partnership between ADOT and ASU’s Alliance for Construction Excellence (ACE). As an educational opportunity for currently certified DBE’s and SBE’s, the ADOT Academy for Development of DBE’s is offering a three day combined program. The program will include core components of Stages I, II and III and will be available in both northern and southern Arizona. A graduate program, for graduates of prior Academy courses, will also be available and will be held in the Phoenix area.
The program will include construction business education in the areas of entrepreneurship, finance and leadership. Upon completion of this program, each person will receive an individual ACE membership ACE 1 year (a $275 value) providing access to industry professionals and networking opportunities.
Companies performing or that desire to perform as contractors, sub-contractors, designers or consultants on ADOT projects will receive priority in the application selection process. ADOT will offer scholarships to selected participants to cover the entire cost of the program.”
